Glass & Aluminum Railings in South Surrey & White Rock
Railings that keep the view – from a local Surrey crew
Railing Experts supplies and installs glass railings, aluminum picket railings, stair railings, privacy screens and gates in South Surrey and White Rock. In the past year our crew worked for 11 clients on the peninsula – homeowners upgrading decks and balconies, and builders finishing new homes.
Our shop is in Surrey, a short drive away, so South Surrey and White Rock jobs are close to home. We work across the area: Crescent Beach, Ocean Park, Morgan Creek, Grandview Heights, Sunnyside, Semiahmoo and White Rock itself – from the hillside streets above the beach to the newer neighbourhoods inland.

Railings we install in South Surrey and White Rock
- Glass railings – clear tempered glass with aluminum posts, or frameless glass on standoffs and spigots, so a deck or balcony keeps its view of the bay, the trees or the water.
- Frosted glass privacy walls – tall panels between a deck and the house next door, without blocking the light.
- Aluminum picket railings – powder-coated black, white or custom colours. Aluminum doesn't rust or rot, which matters in the salt air near the water.
- Stair railings, handrails and gates – deck stairs, front steps on sloped lots, and side-yard gates.
- Interior glass railings – glass for staircases and open landings in new homes and renovations.
- Replacement railings – swapping old wood or worn railings on upper decks and balconies.

South Surrey and White Rock railing FAQs
Will a glass railing block my view?
Much less than any other railing. Clear tempered glass with slim aluminum posts keeps most of the view, and frameless glass removes the posts entirely. A top rail is optional on frameless systems.
Will aluminum railings hold up near the water?
Yes. Powder-coated aluminum doesn't rust or rot and doesn't need repainting. Rinsing it with fresh water now and then keeps salt residue off the finish.
How high does my deck or balcony railing need to be?
Under the BC Building Code, guards on a house generally need to be at least 36" (900 mm) high where the deck is 5'11" (1.8 m) or less above the ground, and 42" (1070 mm) when it's higher. Openings must be small enough that a 4" (100 mm) sphere can't pass through.
Do I need a permit?
Replacing an existing railing usually doesn't need a permit, but new decks and structural changes often do. Check with the City of Surrey or the City of White Rock for your address – we'll supply the railing details your permit needs.

We asked Neil to install Railings on our deck, and refer to our family members. His price is fair, and service is excellent! Highly recommended to those who will need railing for either renovations or new houses.
Greg schmor

Neil is a great communicator and does a fast clean install. The railings look great. Can’t say enough good things about how he does buisness and the quality of his workmanship. That is definately a rare thing these days. I won’t go anywhere else for railings in the future. Highly recommend him.
Jen

Neil and all the installers had incredible customer service. The installers were clean and efficient and Neil was great to work with. Anytime I contacted Neil he always responded in a quick manner including helping me out with extenuating circumstances in regards to city inspections. For that I am really grateful and I would highly recommend The Railing Experts for your projects as they went above and beyond to stand by their product. Thank You!
